Meeting Overview

The St. James knows how to make business meetings, conferences and retreats productive and memorable. With over 15,500 square feet of distinctive meeting space and complete conference and banquet services, the St. James is well suited for multiple functions and is considered a preferred venue by meeting planners throughout the region. Its convenient location less than an hour from the Twin Cities and Rochester and its picturesque setting in rural Red Wing make it especially ideal for a retreat, board meeting or conference. Many of the rooms have views of the river and feature whirlpool baths, allowing guests a chance to relax and rejuvenate, completing the St. James’ “retreat” experience.

The St. James combines historic ambiance with modern technology, featuring state-of-the-art audiovisual services and wireless internet access. The nine meeting rooms range from 764 square feet to 4,000 square feet, accommodating from 24 to 300 guests. The newly renovated Summit seats 300 for banquets and offers unsurpassed, panoramic views of the Mississippi River and Hiawatha Valley. Other distinctive spaces include the Victorian Dining Room, adorned with ornamental tin ceilings and period furniture and the 1880s Library, outfitted with leather chairs, game tables and an enormous fireplace. The St. James’ banquet staff will expertly handle all your catering needs, and can provide customized, creatively designed dishes prepared with the freshest, highest quality ingredients. The hotel also offers a choice of first-rate restaurants and serves Starbucks coffee and Revolution tea throughout the building.

When it’s time for a break, groups will find plenty to do in Red Wing. Dozens of quaint specialty gift and antique shops are located in the hotel and within walking distance. Tours of Red Wing’s renowned pottery shops or the 100-year old Red Wing Shoe Company museum are also popular. During the summer months, golf, riverboat cruises, hiking up the bluffs or cycling along the Cannon Valley Trail are also favorite activities.
