Hotel Wedding & Event Sales Manager
Salary
SUMMARY: Responsible for a myriad of tasks including negotiating rates, coordinating the sequence of events, following up with guests and producing full-scale weddings and events. Helping guide clients through the planning process, lending experience and knowledge, and work diligently on behalf of their customers. Day-of-event coordination and the handling of logistics of the actual wedding day, rehearsal dinner and other booked events are required. Should expect a heavy work schedule that routinely involves late nights, weekends and holidays, especially during the summer and fall months of the wedding season.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts (outside prospecting calls, cold calling, mailings, various trade shows, referrals, networking, etc...) to maximize room and catering revenue to meet/exceed goals.
- Aggressively pursue and contact perspective clients to explain services and facilities offered by hotel and to solicit their business.
- Solid understanding of food, food pairing, food costs and food trends.
- Notify and coordinate customer specifications to efficiently respond to client issues, comments and problems ensuring a quality experience and enhancing future sales prospects.
- To ensure that all event logistics are planned, communicated and executed by respective departments and team members.
- Perform site inspection and facilitate on site planning meetings and menu tastings.
- Meet and greet clients while in-house. Act as liaison between St. James Hotel and client. Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.
- Participate in other sales and food and beverage activities as assigned.
- Knowledge of and the ability to update and network via popular social network and media sites.

Laundry Attendant
PART TIME 20-29 HOURS A WEEK
(SEASONAL FULL TIME AVAILABLE DURING SEASON)
SUMMARY: Provides high level of quality and productivity maintaining a clean, orderly, and professional department by performing the following duties:
- Routinely perform daily laundry and/or dry cleaning duties; receive soiled linens by bag or cart from the floors, sort all articles by kind, color and degree of soil.
- Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers’ guidelines.
- Loads/unloads washers: ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds of linen.
- Loads/unloads dryers: ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds of wet linen frequently; ability to handle hot linen.
- Drapes wet sheets and tablecloths: ability to work with arms extended overhead frequently.
- Fold clean linens and store as appropriate, operate linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
- Follows all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment, maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility to ensure quality standards and sanitation regulations.
- Previous experience preferred. Start time varies to include weekends- day shift. Position requires regularly lifting and/or move.
Line Cook
Jimmy's Full Time
SUMMARY: Assists Culinary Management in coordinating the activities of preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and profitable food service by performing the following duties personally.
- Able to demonstrate expertise with creating visual food presentations, attention to detail and interpersonal relationships with guests and employees.
- This position is accountable for preparation and delivery of food items, to ensure that the quality standards and guest expectations are met or exceeded.
- Able to effectively work on more than one task at a time.
- Maintains a positive work environment with all culinary staff and a team oriented approach to accomplish tasks.
- Culinary degree or equivalent; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a property of similar size.
Banquet Servers
Part Time 20-29 hours a week – Full Time 30-40 hours a week
SUMMARY: To provide professional, prompt, and consistent service to guests during banquet, meeting, and special event functions by performing the following duties:
- Responsible for high quality guest service and satisfaction.
- Work as a team member. Communicate with co-workers and manager in a professional manner to ensure smooth service to guests and positive team effort to both front and back of the house.
- 2-3 years previous serving experience required.
- Friday and Saturday availability required
